Preparing
your child for treatment

Dr.
Ursitti has some tips to aid in making your
child’s treatment more positive and comfortable.
Whether the treatment to be performed is restoring a
tooth with a filling, placing a crown or having teeth
removed these helpful recommendations will make your
child's experience pleasurable and stress free.
Children
are more alert, better listeners and usually more cooperative
during the morning hours. Therefore, we encourage you
to schedule your child’s treatment during the
early morning appointments.
Feeding
your child a very light meal with only clear liquids
such as apple or grape juice is lighter on their stomachs
and lessens the chance of nausea. Milk and orange juice
are NOT recommended, as they are heavy and very acidic.
Giving
your child a pain reliever as Children’s Tylenol,
Children’s Motrin or Pediaprofen before their
appointment also relieves some discomfort associated
with having treatment and covers their discomfort for
a few hours afterwards.
As
always, we will do our best to make your child’s
dental experience a very positive one and welcome any
questions that you might have concerning their treatment.
